The CVC 14U Cardinals participated in the MVSA Capital Festival Tournament Fight Back with Fitness Challenge. The Cardinals won the challenge and raised $1900 for pediatric cancer research.

CVC’s Natalie Alper chosen for the 2013 Minds In Motion Scholarship

Natalie Alper, a player on our 18U Comets team and student at Atholton HS, was one of thirteen recipients that have been chosen for the 2013 Minds In Motion Scholarships provided by The Allstate Foundation.

This is the sixth year for this highly competitive scholarship program which awards $1,000 toward post-secondary education to each of the female and male senior student-athletes chosen who attend an MPSSAA school and participate in MPSSAA recognized sports.

CVC Launches 10U Red Hornets Development Program

The Columbia Volleyball Club recently launched a development program tailored to younger players looking to enhance their skills in order to eventually play club volleyball once they reach an appropriate age.

The 10U Red Hornets development program will be coached by CVC coaches and players and will be a fun learning environment where young athletes can learn about this great sport, make friends and work on basic volleyball skills. This is not a club team; there will be no tournament play… although there will be plenty of scrimmaging, games and fun contests once the girls get more comfortable.

This program will run once a week (Wednesdays) for 8 sessions, starting in May and based on participation and feedback, we will look at continuing over the Summer and Fall. The girls will receive a CVC Red Hornets Shirt

Dates / Times:
Sessions will be at the Volleyball House on Wednesdays, May 1st through May 29th.
Then we move to The Glenwood Community Center on Tuesdays, June 4th through June 18th.
All Sessions will run from 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Gary J. Arthur Community Center at Glenwood, 2400 Route 97, Cooksville, MD 21723

Cost: $120 for 8 sessions

Age Group: 8 – 10 years-old, using September 1, 2013 as the determining date*
