CVC Players Named to Baltimore Sun All-Metro Teams & Biniak Player of the Year


CVC players Morgan Perry, Mallory Baldwin and Jessie Link join Baltimore Sun Player of the Year, Sydney Biniak, on being named to their First and Second All-Metro Teams for 2013. All four players are currently playing for CVC’s 18U Comets team. Congratulations ladies!

Sydney Biniak & Becca Bateman Named Gatorade Players of the Year


CVC’s own Sydnay Biniak and Becca Bateman, both currently playing on our 18U Comets team, were recently named 2013 Gatorade Players of the Year for their respective states.

The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Biniak and Batemen as their state’s best high school volleyball player.

Sydney Biniak, Senior, Howard High School: The 6-foot outside hitter amassed 321 kills, 370 service receptions, 232 digs, 44 service aces and 33 blocks this past season, leading the Lions (21-2) to the Class 4A regional finals. Also the All-Metro Player of the Year as named by The Baltimore Sun, Biniak recorded a .308 hitting percentage and .485 kill percentage. In three Class 4A postseason matches, Biniak averaged 5.1 kills and 2.9 digs per set. Biniak has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at the University of Maryland beginning in the fall of 2014. Sydney’s Press Release >>

Becca Bateman, Senior, St. Johns College High School: The 5-foot-7 setter led the Cadets to a 21-7 record and the Washington D.C. State Volleyball Invitational championship this past season. The District’s returning Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year, Bateman collected 708 assists, 121 digs, 92 service aces and 58 kills while posting a hitting percentage of .369. She is a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and a 2013 Washington Post First Team All-Met honoree. Bateman has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on an athletic scholarship at Marymount University beginning in the fall of 2014. Becca’s Press Release >>

CVC Players Named to Washington Post All-Metro Teams


Congratulations to Morgan Perry and Sydney Biniak for being named to the 2013 Washington Post All-Metro First Team. Megan Conger and Becca Bateman were named to the Honorable Mention list as well.
