Natalie Alper, a player on our 18U Comets team and student at Atholton HS, was one of thirteen recipients that have been chosen for the 2013 Minds In Motion Scholarships provided by The Allstate Foundation.

This is the sixth year for this highly competitive scholarship program which awards $1,000 toward post-secondary education to each of the female and male senior student-athletes chosen who attend an MPSSAA school and participate in MPSSAA recognized sports.

CVC 18U Comets Place Second at MVSA Open Tournament

Comets win 1-6-13

CVC Comets placed second out of twelve teams from across Maryland and Virginia in the MVSA 18 Open tournament January 6th. Finishing first in competitive pool play over Charles County Liberty, Northern Virginia Premier, and MVSA Inferno they earned a spot in the gold level playoff bracket. The team then defeated Maryland Juniors Elite in two sets before falling to Virginia Juniors in the championship match.

Congratulations to CVC players making the Baltimore Sun All-Metro teams for the 2012 high school season.. Ashlee Felton, Chelsea Owensby, Lexi White-Torruellas and Allie Cable made the first team while Jillian Randolph and Morgan Perry both made the second team… Awesome job ladies!

CVC Players Honored in IAAM Conference, Anne Arundel & Baltimore Counties

CVC players were recently honored in the IAAM Conference as well as in Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties. Chelsea Owensby and Jillian Randolph were named to the 2012 IAAM All-Conference Team. Ashlee Felton was named to the All-County First Team for Anne Arundel County. Natalie Bockmiller was named Consensus All-County and Division II First Team in Baltimore County. Natlie’s teammate at Catonsville HS, Danielle Francy, was named to the Division II Second Team. Great job ladies!

CVC Players Named MaxPreps/AVCA Players of the Week

Several CVC players were named MaxPreps/AVCA Players of the Week during their 2012 high school seasons. Allie Cable, Kira Hahn-Ventrell and Lexi White-Torruellas were named for the the State of Maryland and Becca Bateman actually received the honor for Washington DC three times during her Junior season. Congrats on your achievements ladies!
